Frequently Asked Questions?

Home WTR HUB

Q: Why are there so many white bubbles in the water?

A: This is normal, especially during first-time use. The RO system pressurizes both water and air, making air molecules smaller and more soluble. When you dispense water, the air pressure is released, causing bubbles to form. The water may appear cloudy at first, but it's safe to drink. Let it sit briefly, and the bubbles will disappear.

Q: Why is the TDS higher at first, but normal after a minute?

A: This is due to natural osmosis. When the system is idle, a small amount of ions can diffuse into the purified water, causing a temporary TDS increase. Once the system runs for about a minute, the TDS stabilizes. Even at the start, the water is safe to drink and cleaner than that from other filtration methods like carbon or UV. The Home WTR HUB removes about 94–95% of TDS.

Q: How does the TDS display work on the system?

A: The system tests TDS every 30 seconds while running. The number you see reflects the last test result. To get a real-time TDS reading, allow the system to run for about 30 seconds.

Q: Why doesn’t the system turn on after connecting the power cord?

Make sure the power cord isn't plugged into a socket meant for a garbage disposal, as those are often controlled by a wall switch. Try a different outlet.

Q: Why is the TDS reading on my meter different from the system display?

A: TDS meters measure standing water in a container, while the system displays TDS of water in motion. This difference in method can result in different readings. TDS meters may also have testing variances or inaccuracies.

Q: What should I do if water leaks after installation?

A: If you notice any leakage after installation, immediately shut off the water supply. If the leak is at a threaded connection, wrap plumber tape around the external thread to ensure a tight seal. If the leak continues, please contact support@generositywater.com for further assistance.

Q: Why is the TDS reading higher after the Alkaline WTR FLTR?

A: This is normal. The RO system removes both contaminants and beneficial minerals from the water. The Alkaline WTR FLTR reintroduces essential minerals to improve taste and raise pH, which naturally increases the TDS reading.

Q: When should I replace the filter cartridge?

A: The GAF-100 filter cartridge is recommended to be replaced every 12 months. However, actual service life may vary depending on the quality of your source water and daily usage. Always monitor system performance and water flow to determine if an earlier replacement is needed.
